Parada del Sol Parade

Take part in a Scottsdale tradition with the “world’s largest horse-drawn parade,” featuring floats, horses, bands and tons of cowboy fun. More fun follows the parade in Old Town Scottsdale with the Trails End Celebration: dancing, entertainment and kids’ activities. Keep in mind that Scottsdale Road, from Camelback to McDowell roads, will be closed from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.  The Parada del Sol Rodeo will be March 2-3 at WestWorld. First Press Fine Wine Auction

More than 30 wineries are scheduled to participate in the event, including Robert Craig Winery from Napa Valley. The evening’s host will be Peter Sagal, voice of the popular NPR game show Wait Wait ... Don’t Tell Me! The evening features live entertainment by Alice Tatum and the Alice Tatum Band, a gourmet five-course meal and a live auction of rare vintages, culinary experiences and vacation packages. All funds raised from the auction benefit Friends of Public Radio Arizona and the KJZZ’s Youth Media Project.

22nd Annual Celebration of Fine Art

The Celebration of Fine Art has been called “One of the West’s Premier Art Events” by Art & Antiques magazine, and today it attracts more than 50,000 visitors who come to watch art being created in more than 100 onsite artist “studios.” The event, which is in a new location this year, will again feature an outdoor sculpture garden with dozens of life-sized and monumental sculpture including works from Kyle Ashley, Mark Carroll, Victor Issa, Paul Rhymer and Michael Jones. There will also be a working kiln where visitors can watch daily firings.

Romancing Arizona

Come to MIM to celebrate Valentine’s Day and 100 years of Arizona with live local entertainment, food and drinks. Entertainment for the evening will be provided by The Sugar Thieves and the Savoy Hop Cats, outside in MIM’s Main Courtyard. This dance group does 1920s-style Lindy Hop swing dance while the band provides a powerhouse delta sound that will take you back in time.

Billboard magazine describes professional concert guitarist, recording artist and producer Anthony Mazzella as “the new generation of guitar hero,” and Guitar One magazine voted him “one of the top 10 guitarists in the country.” Mazzella has opened for headlining artists James Brown, Tower of Power, The Commodores and Spyro Gyra. His original music is composed with a fusion of world influences that include acoustic and electric finger style, classical, flamenco, jazz, funk and R&B.
